Welcome to my watercolor web site and my Chesapeake Bay studio in Deltaville, Virginia!  I love to paint the wildlife, gardens and undersea world of the Chesapeake Bay Region, the Outer Banks of North Carolina and the Florida Keys in creative and colorful interpretations and look forward to sharing my work with you.  I call my style of painting “impressionistic realism” and aim for a luminous flow of colors that shows off the extraordinary beauty of watercolor as a major art medium.

The art show season begins again in March - see my 2008 show schedule!  and I am painting  new watercolors!  Please come to one of the shows and stop by for an art chat ... I love to talk about my painting process ... how "negative painting" highlights an osprey's nest, how I "pour light" under the sea and into the jellyfish background and how I mix the colors of the water in the Chesapeake Bay and the Florida Keys to keep the watercolors clear and luminous.
